I believe that learning science is a process. It takes time, patience and critical thinking skills to understand the world of science. I believe that the most successful scientists ask more questions than they answer. I ask my students to ask questions about what they see, and encourage them to use and apply their knowledge in scientific inquiry and work collaboratively in developing scientific explanations using different media. PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND I’ve enjoyed teaching for many years. I have a Master’s Degree in Physical Sciences at Xavier University and another Master’s Degree in Science Education at East Carolina University. I completed my Kenan Fellows Program at NC State University and completed my Academically and Intellectually Gifted Teaching Certification at UNC. I am a National Board Certified Teacher. I also work with Pearson as a National Board Science Assessor. I am the director of the North Carolina Student Academy of Science (NCSAS) for District 3. |
